Energy-saving solar shading and safe access for external maintenance are combined in an architectural mesh façade and walkway system from our European client for a landmark building in a beautiful city in Europe.
Our client’s bespoke solution is installed to upper levels on two elevations of the four-storey Town Hub, a ‘super surgery’ housing GP and dental practices, a pharmacy and community facilities.
Totaling around 200 linear meters, the walkways enable high level access to the outside of the building for maintenance, repairs and window cleaning. The system is enclosed by panels of woven stainless steel pre-crimped wire mesh with edging strips, which provide both fall protection for those using the walkways and a degree of solar control. By filtering unwanted heat and glare from the sun, the mesh panels optimize the interior climate, helping to reduce the building’s running costs and, in turn, its carbon footprint.
